I thought it would be worth reviewing the photographers/photographs that I posted about during Part 1 in order to consider them in relation to the design elements covered in Part 2.
It's really fascinating to look at these photographs in a different way.
Orjan Henriksson's work contains a very direct use of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Though much of this was clear on my first viewing.
Laura El-Tantawy's photograph is arguably a great example of using multiple points. There is also a wonderful interplay of diagonal lines. I'd not seen or understood that previously.
The Shana Lavalette image I liked actually contains a subtle but not insignificant vertical line on a horizontal base. There are also diagonal reflections coming in from the corners.
I think Julia Blackmon's photographs show a great use of multiple points.
The shot by Shirana Shahbazi is a complex and contains multiple horizontal lines, plus of course that sweeping curve of the road.
Lewis Baltz makes use of vertical and horizontal lines as well as shallow perspective.
Some of Oscar Ciutat's works also make very direct use of horizontal and vertical lines.
Less obvious is the work of Philip Lorca diCorcia, where colour and portraiture is more of a focus. However, even then there is more localised use of verticals, and diagonals.
This has been a really interesting exercise.
