Part 4 - Exercise 4

Judging colour temperature 2

In this exercise I had to experiment with changing the colour temperature in camera order to achieve different effects.

Each of the subject below are taken with the following white balance settings:

sunlight
cloudy
flourescent 1
flourescent 2
flourescent 3
tungsten

Subject 1 - bat and ball in shadow

This is the "correct" setting for this subject




The "tungsten" setting has significantly cooled the image in a bid to compensate for what it expects to be a very orangey light

Subject 2 - bat and ball in full sunshine
The above shot has the "correct" white balance setting



This "flourescent" setting warms the image even further


In the "tungsten" white balance the scene has become very cool. However, due to the quite warm colours of the day, it doesn't look entirely unnatural and actually has a quality to it which I quite like.
